The Witch (2016)

Excellent acting by everyone and staging that builds mounting dread. Get good headphones and watch on a big screen if you can, because you will need subtitles in some places.
Tropic Thunder (2008)

Constant Hollywood satire with a surprisingly energetic performance from quite a cast in ridiculous situations. Some of the humour relies more on shock value than on witty situational writing. Still, I’m unsure whether movies like this can still be made!
Apocalypto (2006)

Remarkably well-made movie in difficult locations. Once it gets going, it has relentless pacing and sustains a vivid wilderness chase. The physical brutality can put off some but nearly everything in the movie plays a role.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

A glorious finale for a treasure hunter that takes you on a hunt across such diverse gorgeous landscapes after a pirate fortune, blending cinematic set pieces with themes of letting go.
